Where I Stayed in Lisbon: Hotel Vincci Liberdade Review

In 2022, I took my first-ever solo trip, and Lisbon was the city I chose to do it in. For a first solo trip, I needed a hotel that felt central, reliable, and easy to navigate from, and Hotel Vincci Liberdade delivered on all three.
Location
The hotel sits right along Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon's grand, tree-lined boulevard known for its upscale shops and elegant architecture. From there, it's an easy walk or short metro ride to Marquês de Pombal, Chiado, Bairro Alto, and Rossio Square, with Alfama and Castelo de São Jorge also within reach. Having that much of the city accessible on foot made solo exploring simple, which matters a lot on a first solo trip.
The stay itself
I booked a corner room, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the stay. It came with a beautiful balcony and a gorgeous view overlooking the boulevard, the kind of spot where you can just sit with a coffee and watch the city move. The bed itself was incredibly comfortable, which made a real difference after long days of walking and sightseeing.
Standout amenities
Three things stood out most: the bed, the breakfast, and the customer service. The staff were consistently helpful and attentive without being intrusive, which is exactly what you want as a solo traveler.
Best for
This is a boutique hotel through and through, so it's best suited for solo travelers and couples rather than business travelers. It doesn't have that overly corporate feel some larger chain hotels do, which made it feel more personal and relaxed.
Practical tip
Get the breakfast. It's genuinely delicious and, in a city like Lisbon, practically a given when you're booking a hotel of this quality. It's also a smart time-saver: brunch spots around the city get busy fast since they're in high demand, and you don't want to lose an hour of your day standing in line when you could already be full and out exploring.
